With a 128-step pattern sequencer and graphical editor with flexible performance controls—all integrated for standalone MPC, MPC Desktop, and DAW users—it fits effortlessly into any workflow.

Music production tools are meant to inspire—not add complexity to your creative process. Iona was carefully designed with your MPC or DAW workflow in mind. It has an intuitive front panel display with familiar controls and simple navigation so that you can focus on creating.
Add complexity and character to your sound with robust pulse-width modulation via LFO, envelope, or manual slider. For deeper modulation exploration, Iona’s BPM-syncable LFO has nine selectable waveshapes.
Iona features a vintage-inspired filter with envelope, LFO, and keyboard tracking; ADSR filter envelope assignable to VCA; portamento, and customizable modulation control.
Personalize the visual identity of your Iona while you dial in your signature sound. Choose from five different color skins—grey, red, blue, white, and yellow—each saved per preset.
At the heart of Iona is a faithfully modeled sound architecture featuring Pulse Width wave, Sawtooth, Sub, and Noise sources, plus original VCO pitch range and modulation controls. This detail delivers rich, unmistakably vintage tones—from thick, punchy basses to expressive leads.
Add snappy and evolving patterns with a 128-step sequencer that maintains the original instrument’s feel while adding transpose/shirt and a graphical editor. Iona’s built-in arpeggiator sparks instant rhythmic inspiration.
Start experimenting with new sounds and recording your ideas immediately with Iona’s 100+ included factory presets. The instrument’s effects section puts a bit-crushing Lo-Fi, robust Delay, spacious Reverb, and EQ controls front and center on your screen for on-the-fly adjustments.

Iona is designed to support VST2 and VST3 plugin hosts as well as full support for MPC standalone and desktop systems running version 3.6 (or later). This software requires an internet connection for authorization. You will need to install Akai’s MPC desktop software version 3.6 or higher to use desktop versions of the plugins.
