Tape Saturator is an authentic recreation of classic analog tape saturation. Timeless warmth and harmonic character meet modern mixing and mastering control.

VINTAGE WARMTH AND CHARACTER

FOR TODAY'S PRODUCERS

Long before the flexibility and convenience of digital recording workflows became the norm, analog tape was at the center of studio productions. Most popular from the 1960s through 1990s, it was used to add richness and gentle saturation to recordings, making any mix feel more cohesive.

Tape Saturator captures that familiar character, recreating the harmonics, soft compression, and saturation that recording engineers relied on, while giving you precise control in a modern digital environment. Designed for producing and experimenting with sound across DAWs and MPCs, Tape Saturator is capable of smooth,
subtle warmth to aggressive analog‑style drive.

Whether you’re adding weight to drums, density to vocals, or structure to a full mix, this instrument gives you true tape saturation in a format that’s ready for modern production.

Classic Saturation, Faithfully Modeled

Tape Saturator features four distinct saturation models, each inspired by classic tape responses. Designed to emulate the idiosyncrasies of analog tape, each model allows you to add character to your tracks with subtle compression, harmonic richness, and transient smoothing.

Advanced Tape Character Controls

Transport back in time through your own recordings. Modify your tape condition from pristine to a true vintage sound, then introduce wow, flutter, dropouts, and noise for more movement. These intentional imperfections add depth that clean digital processing can’t replicate.

Tone Through Speed

Just like real tape, speed changes the way your recording sounds. Adjust tape speed to subtly shift tonal balance from darker, fuller coloration to brighter, more focused saturation. It’s an instant way to fine-tune character without complex processing chains.

Precision Shaping with Total Control

Tape Saturator includes auto gain make-up, clipping type selection, and detailed tone shaping, so you can experiment with saturation freely without losing level balance or clarity. Dial up rich character and depth or keep it subtle for a cohesive track.

MPC & DAW Integration

Available as an effect inside standalone MPC hardware, MPC Desktop, and all major DAWs, Tape Saturator fits seamlessly into any modern production workflow, bringing authentic tape tone wherever and however you create.
