Tape Echo is an authentic recreation of a classic tape delay workflow. Iconic multi-head echo design reimagined with modern creative control.
THE ULTIMATE ANALOG TAPE EFFECT
MODERNIZED
Analog tape echo units have long been a studio favorite. Loved by artists and producers for their endearing unpredictability, these effects are capable of much more than repetition of sound. They add personality and movement to any mix. As sound cycles across a looping tape path, each repeat subtly changes in timing and tone, creating delays that feel alive, textured, and expressive rather than static or perfectly clean.
Tape Echo brings that feel and production experience into a modern digital workflow. Engineered for sound design and production across DAWs and MPCs, it’s made for everything from dialing in tight, tempo-aware delays to creating wide, expressive echoes.
Perfect for shaping rhythms, adding motion to synths, or building atmosphere across a mix, Tape Echo delivers a tape-inspired delay that responds naturally when and where you need it.
Engine with Multi-Head Modes
Tape Echo’s multi-head architecture recreates the complex interactions of classic tape delay machines. The instrument’s Echo section features a selectable mode to dial in different combinations of the three playheads. Switch between head configurations to control rhythmic patterns, stereo movement, and repeat density, each with natural variation.
Character-Driven Preamp & Chorus
Shape your signal in the Preamp section using Dirty, Clean, or Warm modes. Add spacious movement and width with the built-in chorus section, delivering classic modulation that enhances every repeat.
Living Tape Behavior
Introduce motor drift, dropouts, and noise to recreate the quirky instability and beloved movement of real tape echo units. Combined with stereo offset and flexible dry/wet control, Tape Echo delivers delay effects that evolve organically over time.
Joggable Playhead & Natural Sync
Take control of your audio with a joggable playhead that lets you manipulate delay timing in real time. Enable BPM sync while preserving organic tape drift, giving you timing accuracy without sacrificing analog feel.
Built-In Spring Reverb & Tone Shaping
Available as an effect inside standalone MPC hardware, MPC Desktop, and all major DAWs, Tape Saturator fits seamlessly into any modern production workflow, bringing authentic tape tone wherever and however you create.
MPC & DAW Integration
Tape Echo runs seamlessly as an effect inside standalone MPC hardware, MPC Desktop, and all major DAWs, making it equally at home in live performance, production, and sound design workflows.
